Pathways Awareness - What's New

Pathways Awareness News

Pathways had a booth at the Chicago “Walk Now for Autism Speaks” Event May 12, 2012

The Pathways.org booth had numerous parents and children stop by to get a temporary tattoo and receive information about Pathways.  The positive responses from the attendees were inspiring!

Excerpts from Pathways’ Brochure Have Been Included in A Newly Published Book on Infants!

The book is produced by the Mayo Foundation for Education and Research (MFMER).  It was written by doctors who are parents, too, and is a huge source of information for those with questions about their newborn.  The Pathways growth and development chart is found on pages 615-616.  The book can be purchased at many national retailers and online.

Pathways Will Exhibit at the NDTA Conference May 17-20, 2012 at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Anaheim

Neuro-Developmental Treatment is an advanced therapeutic approach practiced by experienced Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists.  This hands-on approach is used in working with people who have central nervous system insults that create difficulties in controlling movement.  NDT-trained therapists work collaboratively with individuals, family, caregivers and physicians to develop comprehensive treatment programs based on the principles of human neurology and physiology.  Individuals who have minimal to severe motor difficulties can benefit from the NDT approach.  You can visit their website at: http://www.ndta.org/  If you are attending the NDTA's Annual Conference, please visit our booth #207 to see what's new with Pathways.org.

Pathways.org Launches “Course-to-Go” Pilot Program

The Pathways.org "Course-to-Go - Two Month Motor" baby development course will be distributed to health professionals nationwide at no cost as part of a pilot program. The course, taught at more than 35 residency programs in the Chicago area, had a tremendously positive response from the residents; over 96% indicated the course would help them refer earlier and 99% would recommend the course to their colleagues.  As a result, Pathways.org was asked to return to residency programs and received inquiries to present to new programs outside Illinois.  In order to accommodate all the requests, Pathways.org created a USB bracelet that doctors can easily wear while running a busy schedule.  The drive contains everything needed to teach the course including 4 videos, 11 handouts, a script outline, and a slideshow tying all the information together.  The bracelets are free to those who educate healthcare professionals and are interested in sharing the course with their residents and peers.

For more information on the "Course-to-Go," please contact Christine at friends@pathways.org or call 1(800) 955-CHILD (2445).
