Help baby meeting their 7-9 month motor milestone of sitting without support.

Try these activities to encourage independent sitting.

Activity at 0-3 Months:

When holding baby on your lap, position their bottom so it’s pushed back. Slowly rock baby. This helps baby learn to properly sit with their upper body in line with their base.

Activity at 4-6 Months:

Place baby in sitting position on the floor with their hands in front of their legs. This helps baby push themselves up by using their arms.

Activity at 7-9 Months:

Support baby’s back while you read a book! This helps baby sit up straight and strengthen the muscles needed to sit up on their own.
