What is tongue tie? Tongue tie occurs when tissue under the tongue is very tight or thick which can cause issues with feeding and sucking. Some signs baby may have tongue tie include:

  • Difficulty latching on during feeding
  • Delayed weight gain
  • Baby is easily frustrated during feeding
  • Feeding lasts for an unusually long time.

Lip tie can also occur and may impact feeding. It’s never too late to notice an issue and consult your healthcare provider.
