Baby is getting stronger every day with Tummy Time! At 2 months, the majority of Baby’s Tummy Time should be on the floor, and they’ll be able to go for longer stretches with you as their entertainer! You should also see Baby lift and hold up their head, a 2 month motor milestone.

Use the skills below to check in on Baby’s progress during Tummy Time. Aim to do Tummy Time when Baby is happy and alert, and avoid doing it right after feeding.

Tummy Time Skills at 2 Months:
• Spends at least one minute in Tummy Time several times a day (5-10 sessions) without becoming upset
• Spends at least 15-30 minutes of Tummy Time on the floor per day by 2 months of age
• Lifts and holds head up
Possibly tilts head to one side
• Does the majority of Tummy Time on the floor

Tip for Tummy Time at 2 Month:
Try Tummy Time on an exercise or beach ball! Hold Baby tummy down on the ball, then slowly roll it toward and away from you. This helps Baby lift and hold their head up more easily.
