Use the skills below to check in on Baby’s progress during Tummy Time. Aim to do Tummy Time when Baby is happy and alert, and avoid doing it right after feeding.

Tummy Time Skills at 5 Months:
• Begins to push up on hands with straight elbows
• Starts to move hands forward to reach for toys that are placed nearby

Tip for Tummy Time at 5 Months:

Let Baby practice putting weight through their arms: Try putting them over your knees with a toy on the ground. It will give Baby some support while they get used to this feeling!
